  1. Funny Shy Guy :) Says:

Hypnosis is a name that is used for a lot of variations of the same simple trick. Hypnosis is a social contract between a hypnosist and a person that agrees to become hypnotized. The hypnotist does some weird or impressive-looking gibberish, which allows the hypnotized to relax their inhibitions, and do stupid things without fear of being held responsible for their actions. This is similar to how most people use alcohol.
Hypnosis is used mainly for it’s entertainment value, but is also used by some charlatans, quacks, and snake-oil salesmen in various “therapautic” settings. It’s value in these settings has never been proven.
Mind control is mainly a concept which only exist in fantasy. Various conspiracy-nuts will often claim that the government, ufos, the illuminaty, CIA, KGB, or someone else uses mind-control to control the population (or some few important persons). In the real world, the closest we’ve gotten to a mind-control device, is a way to steer laboratory mouse by stimulating their pleasure/pain-center when the mouse starts to walk in the right or wrong direction.
Brain washing is a technique where people have their freedom taken away (such as in a prison or concentration camp), and are forced (by torture) to repeat certain ideological “beliefs”. They will be constantly challenged to repeat and/or act according to these new “beliefs”. Torture is often used extensively, and the victims are often kept days or weeks without sleep or food in order to reduce their resistance. China and USSR used to be pretty good at brain-washing.
Some few religious “cults” have often been accused of brain-washing their members. While there may be some similarities, the victims are usually only kept prisoners by psychological pressure. But food- and/or sleep-deprivation and mild torture isn’t entirely unheard of.
However, it is important to be aware of that the most vocal critics of “cults” are usually religious right-wing christians that are most likely more concerned about the fact that some “cult” has a different belief than them, then they are over the ethics of that particular cult. As a result, many organizations accused of being “cults” are not, and should be viewed as any other religious society.

brain washing is a kind of hypnosis. The difference is in the state at which it is applied:usually hypnosis is done by your approval, brain washing without asking you…

  7. ?Y? Says:

It is a form of mind control, and theoretically, it may be able to be used for brain washing, but I believe that would take time.

Hope you know what is call a dictionay. You can surely find the definitions of these words. The answer will be obviously no.

  9. Spook Says:

    No…
Hypnotism is A peculiar state of consciousness artificially induced, a kind of sleep state that seems to liberate the subconscious powers of the subject. The subject executes suggestions made by the hypnotist as long as they do not conflict with deeper instincts. These suggestions may even be delayed to take affect after the subject comes out of the hypnotic state. The hypnotic state also can be self-induced in order to attain greater self-confidence, self-control, or management of pain.
Mind Control is the use of the subconscious to effect a temporary control of the conscious mind. Usally done while the subject is awake. The most common of these is subliminal advertising. Playing on the subconscious to affect a conscious response.
Brain WAshing is a combination of the above, to effect a permanent change in the thought processes.

No, I did it once and you have control over yourself. It’s more like you don’t have any inhibitions, and you feel so great and relaxed afterwards.
